Manasquan 2018

(Last modified: 7-15-18)

Not all who wander are lost.

Below are some some of the most recent photos I've taken of the family (mostly grandkids) or activities Pat and I have been involved in. If you're here, it's most likely that I sent you an e-mail referring you to this site. My plan is to only put temporary photos here and to remove the old ones when new ones are posted.

We had our annual family week at Manasquan again this year with over 60 people in attendance, for at least part of the time. There were 4 houses rented by the Cottrell family and the Frudden family had 2 houses, one rented and Jenn Reppy had her house in Point Pleasant. It was a beautiful week with lots of beach time and parties.

My sister, Mickey, hosted the kick-off dinner on Sunday evening for the Cottrells.

Jenn Reppy hosted the Frudden dinner on Wednesday at her Pt. Pleasant house.

The Frudden sisters, Debby, Cathy, Teddi, and Pat, always enjoy getting together.

On Monday, our friends Bill, and Blath, came to Manasquan to have lunch with Pat and me. We went to the Inlet Cafe' and had a nice, long, relaxing lunch with good conversation, then we took a walk on the boardwalk.

Tuesday morning, Pat and I met our longtime friend, Graham, at the Manasquan Reservoir. Graham and I walked the 5 miles around the reservoir while Pat did 3 loops with her bicycle.

Max and I visited the beautiful Spring Lake 3 times for some fishing.

Max landed 2 nice carp at Spring Lake, this 6 pounder and a larger 8 pounder.

One morning, I got the younger kids out for some crabbing at the Glimmer-Glass dock. Lots of crabs were caught and released, including this one by Reid.

Jacob shows one of his smaller catches.

Beau, with a nice one.

Geoff, with Murphy and Reid, at the dock.

Max helped out with the netting of the crabs. He was so fast, I don't think he missed a single crab.

Friday evening, my childhood friend, Bill, took Max and I down to Thorne's Lake for a bit of fishing. This is where my fishing life began in 1955, and Max asked if he could see where it all started for me. It has changed a lot over the years and has a new owner, but Bill has permission to fish there.

Max caught 3 nice bass like this one at Thorne's.
