Mailboxes

During my bicycling, I see some strange things. One of the things that has
caught my eye and interest are mailboxes. No, not your ordinary every day
mailboxes, but unique and individualized mailboxes. I'm quite selective
about what I put here on this site. The mailbox must be of unique interest. I
see many beautifully painted and decorated mailboxes, but they don't have
the 'pizzaz' of the ones I've selected. I'm sure there's a story behind many of
the mailboxes and I wonder what it is as I cycle past. Others, I'm sure, just
tickled the artistic fancy of the owners. I wonder if this artform is uniquely
American.
